Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-07-01
This explains what Sermon Helper collects, how it's used, and who it's shared with. Plain language, no surprises. We may revise this policy as the service grows — we'll update the date above when we do.
Who we are
Sermon Helper (sermonhelper.church) is operated by Internet Outreach Experts (Dave Baker), based in Forest, Virginia, USA. Privacy questions? Email pastordavidbaker@gmail.com.
What we collect
- Account information — your name and email address.
- Your content — sermon manuscripts and transcripts you upload or create, notes, and the church, preaching, and bulletin profiles you build.
- Generated outputs — the sermons, automation materials, images, and other content the service produces for you.
- Usage and AI-call logs — records of the actions you take and the AI calls made on your behalf, including their cost, so we can operate, debug, and bill the service.
All of this data is scoped to your account and never shared between accounts. We don't sell your data, and we don't use it for third-party advertising.
How your content is used with AI providers
To generate outputs, Sermon Helper sends your content to third-party AI services. This is core to how the tool works, so we want to be clear about it:
- DeepSeek — receives your sermon text, profiles, and prompts to generate written outputs (drafts, research, bulletin content, and so on).
- xAI — receives content to generate images and to run an independent fact-check of quotes and attributions.
These providers process your content to return a result to you. We don't send your content to AI providers for any purpose other than producing your outputs, and we don't use your content to train our own or third-party models beyond the per-request context sent to generate a specific result.
Other service providers
- Stripe — processes subscription payments. Your card details go directly to Stripe; we never store your full card number.
- Resend — sends transactional email (sign-in, notifications, billing) on our behalf.
Each of these providers handles only the data needed for its function, under its own privacy terms.
Data retention
- After a preaching-profile build, the raw files you uploaded are always deleted. What happens to the sermon text is your choice, made at upload time: keep the extracted text in your private archive, or keep only the analyzed profile plus lightweight metadata (title, scripture references, a short summary) per sermon.
- We never train AI models on your sermons. Your sermons and profile are used only for your own account — never for anyone else's.
- If you keep your archive, you can download all of it (Download my archive) or permanently erase the stored sermon text (Erase my sermon text) at any time, from the Archive page.
- Sermon transcripts you add (pasted or fetched from a YouTube link) are stored with that sermon until you delete it.
- One exception: we keep one of your bulletins as an editable template so generated bulletins match your layout. The rest of your uploaded bulletins are deleted.
- Your profiles, meta data, and generated content stay in your account until you delete them.
Share links
If you create a public share link (for example, an Insights report), anyone with that URL can view the shared content until you revoke the link. Share deliberately.
Your choices and deleting your data
You can delete individual sermons, automations, and other content in the app at any time. For full account deletion, email pastordavidbaker@gmail.com. Full deletion is handled manually for now, and we'll confirm when it's complete.
Security
Your content is stored on our server, scoped to your account and protected by your login. No online service is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your data and limit access to it.
Children
Sermon Helper is intended for adults — pastors and church staff. It is not directed to children, and we don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service evolves. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above.
